A key question that migrants often ask is Who can provide immigration advice? A Work Visa Application form states that it is an offence to provide immigration help and advice without being licensed or exempt.
If your immigration adviser is not licensed, Immigration New Zealand will not process your application. It will be returned to you! You can check whether your adviser is licensed by going to the Immigration Advisers Authority website www.iaa.govt.nz or email info@iaa.govt.nz. “Advisers” marketing themselves as Immigration Consultants may not be licensed.
Lawyers are exempt from licensing under the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007. All lawyers must hold practicing certificate with the New Zealand Law Society in order to provide immigration advice. Visit http://www.lawsociety.org.nz/
AA Law can provide you with all the assistance you may need in relation to your immigration enquiries. Please contact us (09) 869 2097 or admin@aalaw.nz
